What's in a Bottle?
Table Lodge for our May 20 OLM
Every bottle of booze in just about everyone's collection has a story. It separates the special from the ordinary and makes up part of the fun of sharing your booze.
For our May Table Lodge, we're bringing author, journalist and storyteller Rafi Kohan to tell stories from his days as a whisky (and whiskey) reviewer for Gentleman's Quarterly, an upscale lifestyle magazine for men.
Naturally, we can't share those stories without sharing a bottle or two of special whisky (and whiskey) over dinner. So that's what we'll do for our May 20 OLM at Congregation Or Hadash, 7460 Trowbridge Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
It will be a spirited session that you won't want to miss.
Rafi served as deputy editor at The New York Observer, where he wrote a variety of long-form feature and cover stories, including a bombshell profile of Carmelo Anthony in October 2013, which broke the news that the star forward was going to test the free agent market. As a journalist, his writing has also appeared in numerous outlets and publications, including GQ (where he worked for five years), Men's Journal, The Wall Street Journal, Town & Country, Slate, Rolling Stone, The Ringer, ESPN, Vice, Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and The Washington Post, among others, covering everything from identity theft to the World Series of Birding to the New Orleans Police Department on Mardi Gras. (That last piece, written for GQ, was named “Notable” in The Best American Travel Writing anthology.)
