New Member Initiation

Lodge Bezalel will end the long wait to initiate new members into the lodge after a 17-month hiatus. Some eight men were scheduled to join the lodge in March 2020 – just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world. Now they and new candidates will be welcomed to the lodge at a multi-lodge initiation ceremony, Thursday, Aug. 19, at Congregation Or Hadash. Lodges Magen David and Shimshon will also initiate new members into their lodges at the same ceremony.

Schmoozing and snacks will begin at 7 p.m., and the initiation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Dinner will follow at approximately 8:30 p.m. A dark suit and tie are required for all Lodge members and initiates.

Registration is essential. The meeting is open only to HOD brethren and initiates. Dinner is open to all.

“We’ve been looking forward to this day for 17 months,” said Wor Bro Gary Fish, President, Lodge Bezalel. “We kept our March 2020 class of new members involved in all of our Lodge activities, which included a beer tasting and a Scotch tasting, both with chicken dinners, and we had two successful new-member coffees since conditions allowed us to gather again in person.”

Due to the virulence of the Delta variant of Covid, Congregation Or Hadash requires that everyone who comes in person to the building wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. In addition to wearing masks, the congregations kindly requests that all in attendance observe social distancing when inside of the building.
