What's it Like on the Front Lines of The Pandemic?

Our own Bro Daniel Nunes sees it all in his role as a palliative care and hospice chaplain. Get a personal look at how caregivers - both professionals and lay people - are burning out as they deal with death and heartbreak. His presentation is: Caregiver Burnout in Times of Pandemic.

Daniel, who joined HOD and Lodge Bezalel in 2018, is a chaplain for Transitions Hospice, which is based in Rome and covers North Georgia. He was trained in the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Emory University and served his residency at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital. Coming to Atlanta in 2016, he served two years as a Chaplain's Assistant in the Georgia National Guard. In 2018, he converted to Judaism with the help of Rabbi Bro Mario Karpuj and Rabbi Dr. Analia Bortz at Congregation Or Hadash, where is a member.

Before coming to Atlanta, Daniel earned a BA Degree in International Relationships at Uni Brasil in his native Brazil. Coming to the United States, he earned a BA Degree in Theology at Southern Adventist University, Chattanooga, TN and then served as pastor of a Seventh Day Adventist congregation in Minneapolis.

We'll gather on Zoom at 7 p.m. for informal conversation and begin our Table Lodge program at 7:30.
